PBK Architects was retained by Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers to design their new administrative headquarters in Richmond, BC. As the world's largest auctioning company, it has a 24 hour operation worldwide; and the 30,000 s.f. design program includes the amalgamation of three existing administrative operations located in Richmond and the United States. The design incorporates an existing “heritage style” office building with historical importance relating to the birth and growth of this exciting company. To ensure design compatibility, materials chosen include a mix of contemporary and traditional, with references to the hip roof design of the original building.
