New Media Innovation Centre Immersive Design Simulation Lab

Digital immersive environments are on the cutting edge of educational and interactive technology. As the project team for The New Media Innovation Centre, SGI, PBK Architects and Mechdyne Engineering designed Vancouver's first such facility, located at Simon Fraser University's downtown campus.

This environment operates as both a digital laboratory and spectator facility. The interface between the physical space of the lab and the cyber-space fabricated through servers and software enable the participant to experience realms, once left only to the imagination.
