In preparation for the 1991 BC Summer Games, the District of Coquitlam retained PBK to prepare a design study for a grandstand, concession and main gate for an existing Olympic track and soccer / football field. The grandstand has been enthusiastically received as both a spectator facility, and as a focal point for the park. The fabric is self-cleaning and the structure is low maintenance. The seating is built on a gentle rake to conform to an existing berm; it has a low, unobtrusive profile, and is easy for families to negotiate.
